I absolutely love animals. They also make wonderful subjects for photographs. Here are pictures I have taken of some beautiful animals.
Every fall in our yard, we have an invasion of blackbirds, starlings and even the occasional red wing blackbird This happened on November 24, 2018
A couple of days after my husband’s father’s funeral, my husband ate the last piece of cake he brought home from the wake. He threw the plastic container in the recycle bin. Later that day, I looked outside and saw this little squirrel licking the icing off it! If you look closely, you can see he has some white icing on his nose!
Here’s another squirrel from our yard. This is usually how he eats from the bird feeder. Other squirrels sit on it or eat the seeds that fall to the ground. We call this little guy Special Squirrel, for obvious reasons.
A few days after my father’s funeral, my husband and I went to the cemetery. As we were leaving, we saw this absolutely precious little squirrel! I never saw a white squirrel before, so when I got home, I did a little research. There are albino squirrels (with red/pink eyes) and there are this type. This type is missing the melanin that gives the fur color, which is why they are white. How cute is this little guy?! Isn’t that the sweetest little face?! Anytime I am near that cemetery, I look for white squirrels. Unfortunately I have seen them only twice.
Our yard’s resident groundhog happily nibbling on part of a watermelon.
This gull was hanging out with us one day on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.
This beautiful little deer was close to the entrance of one of our local parks.
